I'm starting to get fed up with vista, but I'm wary of driver issues. Anyone tried this yet? Just got my SL300 a couple of days ago...love everything thus far but the track pad. It takes some getting used to.

I'd be worried about drivers, too.

I don't want to be a Vista zealot but it's really a very nice OS. Lenovo's Norton installation really, really slows it down. Try a clean install, or perhaps a custom factory restore. If you have less than 2GB of RAM, it'll cost less to upgrade than it will to buy a copy of XP. Again, I don't mean to sound like I'm telling you what to do, but my experience (on a low-voltage processor, with integrated graphics) is that given enough RAM and with no Norton, Vista can be a very nice operating system.

Thanks for the advice. I've been slowly trying to tweak Vista to my liking so I'll probably keep it in the end. Some added ram should do the trick. Thankfully Lenovo made the ram slots very easily accessible on this model.
