W520 power brick options

#1 Post by Alejandro Audisio » Sun Jan 29, 2012 12:47 pm

I understand the W520 comes standard with the huge 170W power brick..... so here are a few questions:

a) Can you run a W520 on a smaller 135W brick...? Will this cause any performance issues, or will this just mean the battery charge will take longer...?

b) Do you compromise battery life by using a lower rated power brick...?

c) The W520 comes standard with a 9 cell battery.... if I want to have a 6 cell battery as a light weight travel option, is this smaller battery still 100% compatible with the W520...? Is performance also compromised with a 6 cell battery or will it be only a battery life issue...?

d) Are there any considerations of charging a 6 cell battery with a larger 170W power brick..?

Thanks very much,
Alejandro
