Enhanced Backup and Restore Stopped Working!

W510, Windows 7 64 bit Professional edition. Been using Enhanced Backup and Restore for some time; backing up to external USB harddrive, with lots of extra space. Went to make routine back-up and now all it will do is produce an error message "The backup did not complete successfully." My version of Rescue and Recovery is 4.30.0025.00.

I use Malwarebytes and Avast, I'm confident there are no virus issues.

I plan to do the following - purchase NEW back-up drive and see if Rescue and Recovery software will produce new "base" back-up on new drive. Then upgrade to the Enhanced Backup and Restore v. 4.50 for Windows 7.

Anyone see any problems with these steps; or know any other "tricks" to get backup working again?
