The specs and Prices of HongKong student notebook have been released (From (link removed)):

Copied from other forum.

W-series:

W500 P9500 2.53GHz(6MB L2) /3G DDR3/200G 7200/DVDRW/ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 /15.4" Anti-Glare TFT WUXGA 1920 x 1200/1.3 Mega-pixel camera/5.5 lbs (2.5kg) HK$ xxxx (About USD xxxx)

W700 T9600 2.8GHz(6MB L2 ) /4G DDR3/SATA 320GB 5400rpm x 2/NVIDIA Quadro FX 2700M/17" Anti-Glare TFT WUXGA 1920 x 1200/8.3lbs (3.77kg) HK$ xxxx (About USD xxxx)

Anybody know the release date for US? Is the w700 configurable.. The listed spec way overkill (expensive) for me.

That sounds interesting! Curious how the Qaudro FX 2700M performs. Unfortunately, I didn´t manage to google out more details about the gpu. Apart from this, I´m quite surprised that W500 has an ATI chip and W700 will have nVidia :o

Yeah, that sounds quite unusual. A support nightmare waiting to happen if you ask me. Let's hope they know what they're doing. (Or the specs are wrong.)

I'm a bit disappointed to see only WUXGA on the W700...
Then again, it will serve those who think WUXGA is too much for a 15.4" screen.

Would be nice to know if the W500 and W700 will be released August 5th together with the others. But I guess we just have to wait and see...

W500 is "expected in August". So its very likely it will be release along with the new T's ans SL's. i highly doubt the W700 will be released together. I would cream myself if they did.. :(

Are these specs confirmed? I mean could we trust this site for specs accuracy? Any opinions?

Thanks

Yeah, I have now seen that W500 will be available August 5th. Sad that one has to wait even more for the W700... I guess it is because of the strange Nvidia Quadro video card they are putting in it, no info is known about it. They could be consistent and stick with ATI. How come that ATI 3850 never reached the market... just a paper launch as usual of AMD/ATI?
