Maintenance Diskette V 1.79 or later

#1 Post by richalarmsz » Thu Mar 15, 2012 1:14 pm

Had the motherboard replaced. The service center didn't flash the BIOS with serial number and now I get errors on boot. The service center tells me they can't get this diskette to work and I should call Lenovo... Did that and now they want me to send in my W510 to do this 'flash'... Obviously, it isn't rocket science to do this... I've been searching the net for this software but can't find it... Can anyone help?

Search, and you shall be enlightened.

Yes, I have been jaded by (purported) technocrats. Almost as jaded by the tech itself.

Was it a Lenovo authorized Thinkpad service centre? If so, you should report this mishandled situation due to their lack of skill.

The maintenance disk is not for general distribution. It is for dealers and authorized service centers only.
