Does anyone know the difference? B156HW01 V4 vs V7?

#1 Post by Chatbox » Wed Mar 14, 2012 5:47 am

I've been using a B156HW01 V4 that I purchased from eBay awhile ago.

For some reason, there's a tint of red when looking at the display at an angle. Kind of annoying.

Lately, I've been looking on eBay for another FHD panel again, hoping that it'll be better than what I have now.

Found that there are some B156HW01 V7 on eBay, that are said to be fully compatible with T and W series.

So, I've been thinking...shell I get the B156HW01 V7 from eBay, or, buy a legit Lenovo part (one with an FRU sticker) from Lenovo (or other sellers)?

Suggestion please?

Alright, I've been doing a bit more digging.

Looking at here:
http://www.panelook.com/sizmodlist.php? ... on_state=1

Only the AUO B156HW01 V4 and V7 are 95% gamut displays on the market.

V4 has a hardness coating of 2H, contrast ratio of 400:1
V7 has a hardness coating of 3H, contrast ratio of 500:1

Seems like the v7 is the one to go for. Does anyone else have any comment on this?

IIRC, v4 is matte, and v7 is glossy.

I get a very slight red tinge if I move horizontally off center, but not very noticeably so.
