Issue with switching out LCD screen in R60

#1 Post by danceswithrage » Sat Mar 10, 2012 10:19 am

Hello, all! I encountered an issue with switching out my lcd panel in my R60. I am going from a TN panel (LP150E07) to a IPS screen (LP150E05-A2K1). As soon as I installed the new IPS screen, I booted it up and noticed the the screen was very dim. I made sure there were no loose connections and I couldn't find any. So, after that, I immediately switched back to the other screen that I wanted to replace and as soon as I booted the laptop the screen there were no issues. The screen was bright and not super dim like the other screen. Is there a chance that I received a faulty screen or is there something else I'm doing wrong here? I would appreciate any help I can get here!

Thanks for the reply!

OK, I'm a little confused here. Do I need to flash the edid on the panel in order to make my new ips screen work properly?

Is there a chance I got a defective screen then?

Quite likely in my opinion.
