A31 - Fan only starting at 58oC Help

#1 Post by ganon11000 » Sun Mar 03, 2013 5:48 pm

for starters I'll say that TPFanControl.62 has fixed this when logged it (set up smart mode 1) but back to my question, when in the BIOS the fan is spinning but upon windows starting before TPFC and after log-off (exiting TPFC) the fan is silent, after leaving in "BIOS" mode it only kicks in at 58oC and with my mode it never reaches more than 45oC on normal websites and 51oC on 5+ tabs of flash sites!

How do I tell XP to keep the fan on all the time??

P.S it's the same plugged in or on battery!

To follow up on other threads I've made, the temps of the laptop are down, but I've ordered a bashed up laptop off of eBay for £10 that has a P4 2.8GHz etc.. Which will be my gaming laptop

Doesn't it work if you tell TPFanControl to manually run the fan all the time?

That's what I've done, but I'd like to try Ubuntu or other Linux which doesn't have tpfc and I don't want to break it!
