R60 w/IPS screen?
I just picked up a nice 15" R60 for very very cheap. It appears to have an IPS display.
SXGA+, 1400x1050. Is that a replacement? Or were they available for order on R60's?
The viewing angle is pretty much full side to side. That's why i thought it was an IPS. It is however, not very bright. How can i make it brighter? Replace CCFL? LED mod?

Re: R60 w/IPS screen?
I don't believe the R60 was sold with IPS, though perhaps there was a special order. If it is IPS, it's more likely someone swapped it in, which is a straight swap for the SXGA+ and UXGA, for both the R60 and R60e. I've done them both.
Yes, the screens can dim over time. Replacing the bulb is a possibility and less expensive, but it's a pain in the rear job and tedious. You might want to consider just doing the whole screen if it fits the budget.
There is a LED Hydis LCD than can be modded to fit in the T60 for sure. I'm not certain about the R60, but I'd guess yes since the T60 LCDs fit in the R60. Search the forums for more information.

Re: R60 w/IPS screen?
I am currently refurbishing my R60 and I can say that I have also a 1400x1050 screen and I think it is IPS.
But as like you, my screen is very dim. On maximum brightness it is just enough to work inside. I can remember that it was better before, but it was never bright.
But I am interested in a new bulb too. Are there any experiences/examples?
