Hi, is the ThinkVantage Keyboard Customizer Utility available for Windows 7 ? I can't find it, so I guess not. I used it on XP as I run with my Thinkpad docked with lid down, using an external keyboard, mouse and monitor, and had volume control mapped to right-ctrl and arrow keys. I can't see a way of acomplishing something similar under Windows 7.

Have you tried the Vista version of the utility? It would probably run under Win 7

Cheers,

Yes I tried it yesterday, and it didn't seem to install sucessfully. I saw the Windows 7 warning that the app didn't install correctly, and clicked the button to retry the install (forget the exact wording on that dialog). After this I couldn't see the application in the "All Programs" menu, or see it in add/remove programs, or find an executable where I expected it to be. I retried the install again today so that I could explain what happened more accurately and it just seemed to work. It's working fine at the moment apart from "mute" which seems to be being ignored. Volume up and down work, which is what I really wanted, and a few of the other functions I quickly tried seem to be functional too.

I have the Keyboard Customizer utility working (mostly) on my T43p (running Win7) EXCEPT that it has to be activated each time I boot. Seems to lose it's setting each time I shutdown or hibernate.
