Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
Usually prefer Windows' drivers, but just found out it doesn't have a built-in driver for Bluetooth headsets.
Could use a 2006 CSR stack available on the Net, or maybe switch to Lenovo's stack...?
What's your take...?
Cheers.

Re: Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
BTW, there are 2 services provided by the headet - "Headset" and "Handsfree Telephony". Enabling the former works for Skype. Any idea what's the use of the latter profile...?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
I'm sticking with the built-in stack and use the 2006 CSR drivers, for now. Have tried the Lenovo stack before, but there were some issues, which I forgot...
After all these years, I expected that Windows would have better built-in support for Bluetooth...
Sigh.

Re: Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
OK I switched to Lenovo's stack at last cause the built-in stack doesn't send files to my Android devices reliably...
Other observations...
Edit: Scratched that, the Lenovo stack doesn't send files to the Android device reliably either.
Even worse, the headset becomes unusable in Skype.
Uninstalled and move back to Windows' default.
Other observations...
- More built-in drivers included, including one for Bluetooth headset which I had to download from somewhere before.
- The Bluetooth icon becomes more ugly.
- As more drivers and Bluetooth profiles are supported, it brings up an extra icon for the Android device under Windows Explorer as well.
- It adds a "Bluetooth Devices" folder in the Program Menu.

Re: Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
Hello @all,
I'm trying to replace MS-Bluetooth stack by the one from Lenovo in Windows7. Or, better to say, remove the one from MS and keep just "Lenovo"'s. Any idea how to do it?
Regards,
Andrey.

Re: Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
The Lenovo installer will replace the driver automatically, IIRC.
Cheers.

Re: Windows' Built-in or Lenovo's Bluetooth Stack
No. At the present I have 2 entries in the "Device manager" - Lenovo and MS enumerator. And when I uninstall MS stack and then enable Bluetooth again (with a hardware switch), it installs MS stack again.loyukfai wrote:The Lenovo installer will replace the driver automatically, IIRC.
