Looking for an Internet SPell Checker with no strings !

#1 Post by Greg Gebhardt » Thu Oct 31, 2013 7:01 am

Just looking for something to check my spelling on forums, etc.

Running WIn7 Pro

Everyone I find make you download crapware with it. I just want the checker with no crap.

Thanks

You didn't state which web browser you use in Win7. IE10 has a built-in spell checker.

On my older WinXP PC, I have used iespell for years with no problems  http://www.iespell.com/

I hate to admit that I am using AOL but do have IE10 installed. Used to use ieSpell but it no longer works. Hate to reinstall as it comes with someone downloader and trash.

So it's an AOL customized browser. :? (I've never had AOL)

I've never experienced any "downloader and trash" with iespell and it hasn't changed since 2010, v2.6.4

It is not the software that has the "trash" in it.

It is the sites that have the ieSpell download that make you use their "downloader/Installer" that has the crap in it. It can be like stepping in a mine field with even the best anti virus software.

I am just looking for the program, by itself.

From Major Geeks, you can select to download it from the authors website. That's where I got mine & never had a problem. The file name is ieSpellSetup264573.exe for the current build.
