Strange Google search result...
My Foxit PDF reader was updated to V6.02.
GAWD-AWFUL HORRIBLE, with an MS-Office-like ribbon. Absolutely useless crap version!
So I uninstalled it and reloaded the previous V5 version.
Then I looked on Google with this search "foxit reader v6 crap"
At the bottom of the first page with search results there was this notice:
In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page.
If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.
Checking the omitted link, it shows a huge list of what looks like pirated(?) software... WTF?

I was aghast at what I saw as well!
I did find an option under:
File>>UI Options>>Change toolbar mode>> choose 'Classic Toolbar Mode'
Choosing 'Classic Toolbar Mode' reverted my GUI back to what I am used to seeing

I'd never heard of 'Foxit'. Perhaps I am naïve but Adobe Reader seems to do the job and it has been my choice to view any pdf.
So what is the benefit of Foxit?

Re: Strange Google search result...
It's personal preference in my case. Foxit displays all PDFs I have come across just fine. The issue that cropped up was with the latest update and the implementation of a MS Word type ribbon. I think it looks tacky and terrible. I changed the skin back to classic tabs which I like. I've been using Foxit for ~2 years now and it is my choice for PDF viewer/editor. Just used to it and its features I suppose

Thank you for the rationale, emeraldgirl08. I think I'll stick with Adobe ... even if it might take up a lot of space.
Foxit sounds very dodgy!

Au contraire. I am a student and the last thing I need is a dodgy PDF reader/editor. Foxit has not failed me in my ability to generate PDF content as well as edit my PDFs. I am using it right now downloading peer-reviews and researching. I also place notes in PDF for a couple of my courses. My motto is 'use whatever works for you'

+1 for Foxit, I'm usings its portable version since at least 5 years. It's really lightweight, more responsive and less intrusive than Adobe
