I don't kow if this counts for a good deal worth braggin, but here goes:

Item: near mint X31 (2673-CTO)

Config: 1.6 GHz Banias, single 512 MB PC2700 RAM, Cisco wifi b, 30 GB HDD, ultrabase with CD-RW/DVD-ROM, warranty till march 2008.

Cost: $495!

Of course I offset whatever I gained on this deal by splurging on a 1GB RAM and a 7k60 :(
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Rules of the road :thumbs-UP:

Ah... I also bought a Targus well-padded laptop case at only SGD$35.00.

One of the labs in our department just threw away a bunch of PIII and P4 desktop computers. Sold two PIII's for $45 and $18, will sell a third one for perhaps $20, and kept a very nice 2.8GHz P4 PC2700 system for my own use. So I got these for -$83, can't beat that!

Bought a Sharp Wizard OZ-630 for $4.99 yesterday from the same place that sold me my HP 48G for $35. There's an OZ-640 which is the 512kb version of what I have (the 630 has 256kb memory) going for over $40 with 4 bids and the auction still has a few days left.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0069309437

With that, I'm pondering if I want to keep this thing and use it (since I can do stuff on this faster than I could with my Palm) or sell it.

Western Digital My Book Premium/Essential Edition 500Gb

#69 Post by n1nj4Lo » Sun Dec 31, 2006 1:59 am

Jus thought I'd alert everyone of this great deal going on at three stores, Circuit City has the Essential for $189.99 / Full price - $249.99 = $60.00 mail in rebate, Best Buy has also has the Essential for $199.99 (Not sure how much before rebate) and CompUSA has the Premium Edition for $229.99 (Not sure how much before rebate).... But I'd call this a great deal for all of us to have bragging rights to whoever purchases one that is... I know for certain that I am going to be picking one up within this next week, Jus gotta decide whether I want the Essential or Premium Edition now.. LoL

Here ya go, From what I've noticed and gathered the Essential Edition has a faster Cache which is 16Mb and The Premium Edition only has a 7Mb Cache... Heres the links for the two so ya can judge for yourself...

Today I bought a working Palm Vx from goodwill for $25. It came with cradle, AC adapter, Belkin USB to serial adapter and a Pilot Pentopia brand metal barrel stylus with concealed ink pen. The Palm itself looks like new. Given the condition of the Palm and the accessories included, I think this was a good deal.

I decided not to get the MyBook and instead bought me the 3.5 Mad Dog HDD Enclosure Case that I put my old 320Gb HDD into:
img]http://www.bargainspotonline.com/photos ... COM-2T.jpg[/img]
And a Mad Dog LightScribe 18X Triple Format DVD±RW External Drive~->Here...
So heh I saved over a good lil amount of money over buyin this than jus the external MyBook hdd.. Wound up with a total savings of 25bucks compaired to the new sales price at Best Buy for the normal MyBook 500Gb External HDD

I've gotta brag about the 3 Thinkpads I bout about 3 weeks ago.
The two in my sig + a T21 which has the CRC1 problem and which I'll probably sell or use parts from.
They were outcasts from a large company, bought 'em all for 40USD :D
The T23 had a loose inductor, which I fixed thanks to this forum, now runs wonderful, the X21 has a cracked LCD, which I'll be replacing, and the T21 as above.
Good deal eh?

Here was my bargain (well it was in my book):

£230 which won't exchange well in the USA right now but over here I consider this good:

Mint ThinkPad T40 (not a mark, scratch, crack of nick)
Pentium M 1.5GHz
512MB RAM
40GB 5400RPM HD
CDRW/DVD-ROM Drive
'Centrino' mark with Intel 2100B 802.11b Wireless
Carry Case
Power Adapter
IBM USB Floppy Drive (lil diddy one)
XGA 1024x768 with Radeon 7500 32MB

Wonderful machine :) No warranty and I cannot believe it's almost 4 years old, it works like brand new!

Photos to follow, as I have a Canon EOS 5, nope not 5D, a 5. Film SLR :) So I'll take snaps and get them processed + scanned. And don't diss the film, it rocks even when you have an amateur like me behind it :) (http://www.lilserenity.com/portfolio/ph ... hoto1.html)

HP PSC 2210XI

#79 Post by n1nj4Lo » Sat Jan 27, 2007 11:15 pm

I was at the local Goodwill Thrift store tonight and found a barely used HP PSC 2210XI Multifunctional Printer/Scanner/Copier/Fax Machine and Multiple Memory Card Reader...

Before I bought it though I tested out the Memory Crad Reader by using a memory card I had in my cellphone and printer out some pictures off the card, It worked perfectly as well as everything else on it when I got home and tested everything else out.. It also appears to have some brand new ink cartridges in it too..

I'd have to say it was a good steal for $19.98 considering most memory card readers out there alone retail for the same price or higher..

---------
The bad deal I got though was on my way home I got pulled over and given a ticket for running a stop sign..... On A Bike, At that!!! LMAO

How about a Thinkpad T60 2623D6U for $810.02 including shipping. It was an eBay Auction by PC-Connection. Listed as refurbished in the auction... but just a customer return for 2 stuck pixels as I suspected (actually 2 stuck blue subpixels) not particularly noticeable. Original warranty good until Nov 2009!

Working the rebates

#84 Post by mikesugar » Fri Feb 16, 2007 8:00 am

So back in November, HP was offering approximately a 50% rebate on some of its printers.

I eyeballed this HP LJ 3390 multi-function for $699. With the $350 rebate a pretty good deal.

But the rebate was not applicable for purchases from OfficeMax or Best Buy. Hmmmm... I wonder why?

Then I get a sunday paper flier from Office Max selling that model for $419! That must be why.

So I take the flier to CompUSA and they match the Office Max price.

8 weeks later I have my $350 rebate. $70 bucks for a brand new $700 printer. BooYa!
