carbon..
are you saying that you inserted a V* into a pontiac fiero..??

was there a fiero in 2000..??

FYI, my wife bought a new fiero in 1984 and drove it until about 1998..
it now resides in the garden, complete with alloy wheels and various snakes..
ran for years until the head gasket gave up and the engine overheated..!

Yes Bill, I inserted a modified 5.7L Chevrolet engine in a 1984 fiero. It requires a lot of self control to drive it as it is ridiculously fast.
The fiero was in production from 1948 until 1988.
2001 was when I signed up at ebay.

i always liked her fiero..
cornered like on rails until you hit rough pavement, then the suspension could not handle it and it was byebyebaby and an unscheduled excursion into the underbrush.. OR someones front lawn.. :-)

not that i ever did that..

i put the 84 fiero up on that fiero web site for sale..

i can understand the appeal of a V8 in a fiero..
but its got to be a tight fit..

what does it do the the balance and handling..??

i saw some pics of a cadillac northstar engine in one..
on that fiero web site..

hotrods and engine conversions still live i see..

They're an enormous market among the "Rice rocket" crowd, i.e. those who take relatively staid Hondas, Nissans, etc. and turn them into street rockets with add-ons such as modified intakes, chips, extractor exhausts and the ever reliable NOS systems.

Not to be confused with the poseurs who think that the addition of a BFP* to their exhaust tip instantly transforms them into the ultimate cafe' racer.

I've certainly gone through my fair share of exotic machinery, especially "tweaked" items that probably shouldn't have been allowed to escape from the builder. But, as I've grown older, I've developed a fondness for the "Q" ship, i.e. rockets that show no outward signs of being anything other than your average, or slightly above average, daily driver. Keeps me under the radar as it were and doesn't attract undue scrutiny from the powers that be, even at extra-legal speeds.

I fondly recall my Audi Quattro 5000 Turbo which had been coaxed to pack 20PSI into the cylinders resulting in 300HP+ on the ground!

Of course, the 6.9L Merc presently in the stable is the natural offshoot of my prior wrench turning, and the best part is that it's 100% stock!

All of which has paled of late with the ability to hop in the B200, take it up to FL320 and cruise at 300MPH+!

Regards,

James

i stay away from things with wings..
(except for my long gone 1959 cadillac's)

the current road rocket is the MBZ SL600..
darn thing comes near to needing wings..
hard to keep wheel slippage from occuring..
then an orange light appears and raps my knuckles, nonny style..!

need new tires with more meat when i can afford these new 17 inch 255/45 RX whatever michelin pilots..

an AML is yet another story..

i GOTTA sell more thinkpads.. :D
or stop borrowing from the redhead..

There's an S500 AMG (if that's what you meant) for sale by a neighbor that I've been eyeballing for a while. Would be a worthy successor to the SEL.

AML = Aston Martin Lagonda

sold the gold one, bought a white one with 11k miles and, it seems a slate gray one with 18k miles..

i can pay for one or the other but not both..

an AMG S500 seems a bit on the slow side..
what you need is an S600..! AMG or not.. that darn V12 is super..

if i see another one for sale from a wrecked car i'll consider an engine swap to the AML..!
