Help choosing between Verbatim & WD portable Hard Drive

#1 Post by schester » Sun Sep 11, 2011 7:24 pm

Anybody have any experience with the Verbatim Store N Go or the Western Digital My Passport Essential portable Hard Drives?

I need a hard drive for backing up data off my Thinkpad. Not sure which one to get.

I would make a guess that most of us build our own external HDD using a USB/eSATA enclosure.

This is the one that I use...

Isn't Verbatim Store N Go a USB flashdrive? If so, the last time I looked, 32GB flashdrive sells for over $40. Probably, the most reliable way to back-up key documents.

WD My Passport Essential is WD's external HDD, permamently enclosed in a plastic case. If you are looking at the most cost-efficient way to purchase 1,000 GB, Western Digital is as reliable as any other manufacturer on the market.
