Any ideas on populating the ISA slot?

#1 Post by jeffbaichina » Tue Nov 18, 2014 11:29 am

Just got my IBM ThinkPad 755CD with a 3545 dock... There's a full length 16bit ISA slot in it, but I've got not much idea of what to put into it.

The WD graphics card has pretty bad DirectDraw performance, will an ATI Mach32 fit into it?
Or a AWE64 will worth more of an upgrade in term of performance boost?

Depends on what you're going to be using your setup for. In the SelectaDock III for my 770x, I've installed my AWE32 for the sole purpose of MIDI playback, since my DOS box bit the dust a while back.
My "daily drivers":

T520 (4240-48u) - Core i7 2620m (2.7GHz), 8GB RAM, 80GB mSATA SSD, 1TB HDD, nVidia NVS 4200m (Optimus)
T43p (2668-VQ7) - 2.26GHz Pentium M, 2 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD, Radeon Mobility FireGL V3200

Hmm... But as I can see from ATI Mach32s are the fact that they have both ISA and VLB support, not sure if it will fit. The WD card it has is just horrifyingly slow...
