I have a 380ED (2635-6AU) with a panel that appears to be deteriorating and needs replacement. The manufacture date on it is February 1998.
According to the HMM, there are TWO types of TFT displays, "Type 1", and "Type 2". The FRU for the Type 1 panel is 05K9308 and the Type 2 panel is 11J9623. The cables for each type are different so they are not compatible. I can find both panels online for cheap but I am wondering if there is some way to check what panel I have before I open the laptop up.
