iSERIES 1400 backlight help!

#1 Post by NautTboy » Wed Jun 04, 2008 7:26 pm

I previously install antenna for my wifi card. Today after I removed it from behind the LCD, now my back light is not working. What should I check and do? I'd check connector and seems to be connected. Cables looks ok. I'm done messing with this one, I'm gonna put it up for sale soon. Maybe after I get the LCD working.

inverter

#2 Post by NautTboy » Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:15 pm

I'd unplug and replug the inverter and restart still dark.
Did I accidently hit something while try to remove the
antenna or what. Urg!!!!.

This thing already cost me a fortune. How much does
it worth now if any at all?

While I await help from you guys, i will open up my
iSERIES 1200 to see if it's the same inverter. Check if
the inverter still good.

Before I take it to the community sale thread. Here is the info:

Battery went bad after bios upgrade. Of course, now
my LCD
Good physical condition accept one little hole on the back close to the USB port where I had my antenna going thru.

Ok, bringing back the old hobby.

I just started to play with this laptop again.
Test results:

1. CCL light is ok, tested with other inverters.
2. inverters is ok(maybe), replaced with new used one.
3. Video card is ok, tested w/ external display and it's LCD shows display.

All flat zif cable looks good, no tears no breaks. Seems like no power is going into the inverter. What other things could I check?

Anyway I can bypass the inverter?

Look for a small fuse on the motherboard near the video cable plug.
