Unable to flash BIOS on old Thinkpad 770ED

#1 Post by dblaszczyk » Wed Dec 02, 2009 12:18 pm

I have a IBM Thinkpad 770ED and I need to update the BIOS for XP support. It has no floppy drive but I was able to make the bootable floppy on another system. Now I have all of the files from the bootable floppy but I can't find a way to get this working off of a cd. I have tried a whole bunch of stuff and every search on google just confuses me. I tried Bart's clean boot cd for flashing a BIOS but it gets stuck at "ROOT FAT KERNEL GO!". Could anyone tell me how to get this working?

Is there really no help? I've seen that people have done this before on older thinkpads, tell me how you did it please.

I haven't seen any reports of someone doing this on a 770ED or a 770E...or on any 770 series for that matter. I'm sure that no one is holding out on you.
