10GB IBM DJSA-210 drives for cheap on ebay

#1 Post by Unknown_K » Sat Dec 04, 2010 12:25 am

I assume you people are like me having a hard time finding older laptop drives for the collection. Well there is a guy on ebay selling 5 x 10GB IBM DJSA-210 drives for $15 shipped as is (comes to $3 a piece shipped). I purchased a set and they seem to check out using seatools to test them. The packaging was decent as well (all pink anti static material inside and good cushioning).

He has 7 more sets of 5 available: Item number: 290501539075 , I purchased 2 more sets myself.

Figured somebody might want to grab some.

Maybe I'll grab some to have on hand. The 810mb in my 365 is on its last legs, the 4gig in the 380z is dying and the 6gig that I tried to replace it with died :( . I've never had any trouble with desktop drives, I have a 1992 Gateway with a 400mb WD that works perfectly. Just my luck I guess.

Thanks for the heads up! I picked up a 5 set. If they all work, I'll be able to get all my old driveless machines going again.

All 5 of mine are fine.
2 pretty noisy
1 about normal
1 a little softer
1 dead quite.

I have 10 coming probably tomorrow hope those all work. That model is known for being somewhat noisy I think. Nice to see drives that cheap once in a while, makes me wonder what he stripped them out of.

My five arrived in today's mail. I have not had the time to test them, but they look exceptional clean. Actually could pass for new, if it wasn't for the packaging.

Out of 15 total I purchased only 1 had a few back sectors and I junked it, not too bad.
