WTB: 600 systemboard?

#1 Post by WVZR1 » Sun Mar 06, 2011 7:04 am

The CMOS battery receptacle is broken from my 600. The machine sat idle for maybe 3 years + and the error codes I got when I attempted a "start-up" hinted that a new battery was required. Replaced CMOS battery and still got same error codes. I removed the CMOS battery to check voltage of the new one and the receptacle was loose. After checking voltage I went to install and the receptacle fell off. Machines are $30 or less on eBay.

Can a system-board be swapped machine to machine with no aggravation?

Machine type is in my signature.

The board can indeed be swapped... just gotta be able to pay attention to details... just grab the tech reference to it and stay organized... http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... 00tech.pdf

They pop up on ebay often...
