Display Hotkeys of TP Edge 535 do not work under Windows 7

#1 Post by dfsp_spirit » Sun Nov 04, 2012 12:12 pm

Hello,

I have recently installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit on the ThinkPad Edge 535 Laptop of a friend. I downloaded and installed all the drivers from the Lenovo support website, including the Hotkey Features Integration utility for Win7. Device manager shows all hardware as ready and installed properly (no yellow exclamation marks).

Still, some of the hotkeys, i.e., the special functions of the keys F1..F12, do not work. This means that you cannot adjust display brightness. Some other keys, e.g., thr sound keys (next track, reduce/increase volume) do work.

I have checked the BIOS for settings, and they are ok (swapping of the FN-key with CTRL is off). The BIOS also allows you to specify whether you want to get the special functions (e.g., display brightness) with pressing the FN key or without pressing it (in the latter, you have to press FN+F1 to get the normal F1 function). I tried both and the special functions did not work, while the original key function works.

So my question is: what could I try next to get the hotkeys to work? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

spirit

Have you followed instructions when installing the drivers? Some drivers require manual installation after the "installer" finishes.
