how to get keyboard shortcut normally on thinkpad edge?

hi..

i have thinkpad edge 14 inc, that use win 7 pro for operating system. i have any problem where sometimes i need using keyboard shortcut for any reason such as renaming folder/files (only press F2), end task (press alt + F4). and now on thinkpad edge i must using press fn + F2 for renaming folder :(

but for end task some application (usually press alt + F4), till now i dont find how to make it shortcut work :(.

F2 --> fn + F2
alt + F4 --> ??

anyone can help me?

You can change how the laptop handles function keys through BIOS.
* In "Default" mode, pressing F1 mutes the volume and pressing Fn-F1 activates the 1st function key.
* In "Legacy" mode, pressing F1 activates the 1st function key and pressing Fn-F1 mutes the volume.

Your computer is probably in default mode. To switch to legacy mode...
* Boot the machine.
* At the Lenovo splash press Enter and then pressing Fn-F1 to start BIOS.
* Select "Config"
* Select "Keyboard/Mouse"
* Select "Change to 'F1-F12' keys" and choose "Legacy"
