Adding a barrel or slim tip DC-IN socket to a USB-C laptop.

Saw this on Reddit and the idea really appeals to me for my T480!
Reddit wrote:The USB-C ports are rather flimsy and most are soldered directly onto the motherboard (stupid really!).
Is it possible to add a DC-IN socket for the former 20V chargers with barrel or slim tip?
Looking at the USB-C pinout, you should be able to use its DP1/DP2 (+) and DN1/DN2 (-) pins and connect them to the 'old' DC-IN socket and then use the old 20V chargers.
Both the old style 65W and 90W should be usable and IMHO we don't need to bother about the centre pin with or without resistor.
Best location for that socket would probably be the Kensington lock (with a bit of Dremel-use).
Doable?
Crazy idea?
What say you?
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
