KB5016616 (Ags 2022) Boot Fail X220 - Does anyone encounter this?

#1 Post by benlimanto » Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:45 pm

As the title state, does anyone encounter this? I kept having problem with KB5016616, successfully installed, kept asking for update and installing all the time, and it result in never ending loop, never ever gone to login, and need to be automatically repaired.

I already tried to clear SoftwareDistribution and restart, still no luck, kept asking for update and cause my X220 to broke down in boot loop.

I'm using Windows 10 21H2 10.0.19044.1766, if that information help. Thank you
X220 with Win 10 21H2 Fedora 38 XFCE 4.18 (official spins)
i7-2640m, disabled Hyper Thread, Temp Drop on average 10*C, all core activated, need KVM for Windows
12gb RAM (enough for now, DDR3L)
480 Kingston Fake SSD
64gb Samsung SD Card
Recently rolled back to Windows 7 from Win 10 21H2. Sad

As usual, W10 users get shafted by Micro$haft.
Why for heavens sake does everybody insist on updating day-in, day-out?

All my Thinkpads run perfectly fine on W7 and have not had any updates since 2018.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Well, windows always be windows right. I really want to stay with Windows 7, but as X220 used as my daily driver, well.. I can't use windows 7, and I heavily depends on Newest OneDriver and MS Office, for colaboration, sadly... I tried linux, but no luck, especially for working with my peers in office.. so I can't left using old windows 7 or linux.

I already read the changelog before, no information lead to help me fix my problem, it's sad tho.. last option probably wait 22H2 and nuke em all. sad... really sad...

EDIT :
Well I end up using... Windows 7 on my Thinkpad... it's sad to see tbh... I need OneDrive file on demand, but... well... I end up with windows 7 ESU :/

EDIT 2 :
Automatic Repair delete my user folder.. what is wrong with Windows now.. Ugh... I'm lucky some of my data are in OneDrive, but my precious Books.... ugh.. I really hate it.. :/ All is wrong with Microsoft nowdays... I... can't speak more... :/
