hi

I got a T410s model that does not have one of the intel wireless cards (5300, 6300,), but instead the thinkpad brand wireless a/b/g/n? card, and it seems it does not work.

does anyone have experience getting this wireless card to work under one of the newer linux kernels, or distros, particularly suse 11.4, or 11.3?

or do I need to order a intel replacement from lenovo?

thanks

ThinkWiki has some information on using your card (but nothing specific to Suse):

I'd recommend you get an Intel card.

The RealTek cards are junk. They're junk under Windows, and they're *very* buggy junk under everything else. It's not even a question of community drivers being problematic -- RealTek's own drivers suck mightily.

Intel's cards are relatively cheap, and they work very well under Linux and Windows.
