eCS Pre-Installed on Thinkpad?
If Lenovo will pre-install Linux on a Thinkpad, I think they should have an option of pre-installing eComStation too. What do you think?

I have certainly found a place for eCS. It installed nicely on a Netfinity 5600, including SCSI RAID support and Lotus Domino R5 installed without problems. I know OS/2 from about five years of primary use and it is a comfortable place for me to run a Domino server.
That said, I'd have two major concerns about trying to use eCS on a new Thinkpad. Are there drivers for new hardware technologies? Can eCS run the kinds of desktop apps that current users want.?
I personally don't want to fiddle with an OS. I have used Xandros on a couple of Thinkpads because I could install it, then install Notes clients, Photoshop and slightly outdated versions of Dreamweaver, then use it without having to think very much about the OS. Crossover just seems to be getting better, at least at running the apps I am interested in.
I'd be happy to use eCS in the same way if I could. IBM did not develop an R5 Notes client and ended distribution of the Domino version after R5. Browser versions for OS/2 seem to seriously lag their Windows counterparts. I've never used ODIN, so I don't know how well mainstream W32 apps can run in eCS. The need for this capability is an ongoing issue in Linux forums, with some Linux users suggesting that there are sufficient Linux applications to satisfy most user needs. There seem to be many Linux users that continue to dual boot, a process that I find very intrusive. The way I multitask, restarting the machine is too disruptive to my work, so I want a single OS that will run everything. I think that the choice of OS/2 apps is more limited than the choice of Linux apps and the level of development of new apps follows this pattern.
A final concern I'd have is with the future of eCS. I understand that the codebase for OS/2 suffers from parts being owned by IBM, Microsoft and others and that this hampers efforts to make this into an open standard that would be attractive to small scale developers. While I have an abiding loyalty to OS/2, I lost a major investment of time when IBM bailed on making it a competing platform. Personally I am more comfortable investing my time in gaining experience with Linux which presents no focused target on which Microsoft can set its crosshairs.

When eCS/OS/2 goes, then OSFree?
I am hoping that when eCS no logner can be developed when there are no more OS/2 updates from IBM that OSFree will be ready to install on computers.

Worth suggesting to Serenity Systems
I think that is worth suggesting to Serenity Systems for eComStation.
