Use eBay? Who are you??

#1 Post by JHEM » Fri Jun 04, 2004 1:23 pm

For those of us who frequently dive into the murky seas of eBay, if you're a buyer or seller there, who are you? Meaning, what's your eBay UserID?

E.g., I'm CaptJHEM on eBay. I ask in order to prevent us from stumbling all over each other and getting into bidding wars.

Plus, there are a lot of Thinkpad and Thinkpad parts and accessories sellers here on the forums and I'd ask that they "uncloak" and add a line or two about what they specialize in and where they're located.

I could easily put a list together of some of the more recognizable sellers that frequent the forums, but I leave it to them to voluntarily identify themselves.

Regards,

James

I'm kbrianeng. But I rarely sell stuff on eBay. I have only sold two items in the past two years, and neither were ThinkPad related.

i suppose that i should admit that, on ebay, i hide behind the nom-de-plume: "billmorrow"..

i think that you guys will need to write that down someplace so as not to forget it..

also, on my rare auctions, i usually feature one of the birds in their capacity of packing inspections and so forth..
they are hams (in spite of being birds) and like to be in the photos..
especially that one photo of a stack of T40p's thast was stolen and has been used by some crook from the UK..

I just started selling my first few items! Parts from my old Toshiba Portege 3020ct laptop :D

I've been buying for a few years, but only sparingly, hence the low number of feedback.

I do some buying on ebay. Mostly parts for older systems and wardriving stuff for my 600x.

I've thought about selling, just haven't gotten the heart to part with anything. Besides who wants a mint working TRS80, TRS1000, hand full of old macs and assorted server parts.... besides me :)

Yes,

I do frequently buy parts on ebay, sometimes I sell "antique" computer parts via the "flohmarkt" on www.heise.de (a german it-journal) using "think twice" as my nickname.

on ebay I happen to call myself ... ... friedrich-eugen ...

I'm eBay seller AbsoluteRaleigh.

Location: Cary, NC. (Cary borders Raleigh)

I'm relatively new to the thinkpads.com forums but now I stop by to offer suggestions to questions that I can help answer.

On eBay we primarily sell used 2 – 4 yr old ThinkPad laptops. We’re currently a gold level powerseller. We also sell repair parts & offer repair services. System boards, LCDs, drives and other parts are usually listed. We carry several parts that often never make it to eBay. We have a small store which is 80% warehouse in Cary where a few good laptop technicians are employed. We work on ThinkPad and other brand laptops. Sometimes we have 10 items on eBay and sometimes we have around 200. Due to listing fees increasing (yesterday by 80%) and other factors we tend to list less these days. We usually sell around 20 – 80 laptops per month on eBay depending on market conditions and what our resellers do or do not buy from us that month.
