See this.

Then I believe the drivers are not installed. Which OS are you using?

This might help:

Vista drivers

XP drivers

R61 7742CTO Vista/Integrated Camera

#9 Post by vanderson » Thu Jul 19, 2007 7:21 am

My sys shows no camera installed, either. Hunting for a solution before calling Tech Support...

I read this at Lenovo:
Windows Vista has no operating system-based applications or utilities to display images captured by the Integrated Camera - 3000 N100, V100 / ThinkPad R61, T61, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t / Source: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67209

Any counsel at all would be of help.

Thanks.

That's because the link is not for your machine.

Please install the following drivers:

Lenovo Veriface Recognition

#14 Post by lkh128 » Mon Nov 26, 2007 2:10 pm

I have a Lenovo 3000 Y410. Does anyone know if there is a manual for its Veriface Recognition program and if it can register two individuals in one windows vista user account?

The software accompanies with a guide I believe.

The wizard that lets you setup the facial recognition software, there should be help menu somewhere, if not then I'll look into it.

VeriFace Recognition

#18 Post by lkh128 » Tue Nov 27, 2007 9:19 am

Thank you again Ryengineer. I checked the help menu and all it says is: "You can log in to Windows using Lenovo VeriFace after registering your face image. When Windows starts or locks, an animation indicates that the VeriFace software is active. To log in using VeriFace, look directly into the camera until VeriFace registers your face image and logs you in to Windows." No other instructions are given and it does not say if I can register more than one user or how I can do it.

If I create a second user account in windows vista I imagine I will be able to use VeriFace Recognition for a second person on that second user account. Am I right on that? Further, under windows vista, can the second user account have the same access to the laptop as the first person?

I was also looking at ways to control the integrated camera but I cannot find anything on it in the user manual. I see in this forum that you directed Samantha546 to a Lenovo site for various drivers (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 104#camera). If I download and install the Lenovo web cam software, will that allow me to work with the web cam? As it stands I have no way to access the webcam at all.

Sorry to take up so much of your time but any assistance you provide is greatly appreciated.

Lenovo 3000 Y410 Integrated Camera

#19 Post by lkh128 » Thu Nov 29, 2007 1:45 pm

I have the Lenovo 3000 Y410. If I were to install the software (v61.2.8.140) will that give me control and use of the integrated webcam? As it stands, I have no way to access the webcam.

Yes, under Windows Vista it should.

#21 Post by Troublematic » Fri Dec 21, 2007 8:46 am

I have already downloaded the device driver for the integrated camera, but have no idea how to gain access to the camera. I am using a Lenovo 3000 Y410 Notebook, installed with Windows Vista. Could you advise me on how to access it? Thanks very much..

To use the camera to start a video conference download a third party software like Windows Live Messenger.

That's all?

Is there no way no access the camera outside of Video Conferencing? Maybe a function similar to iMac's Photobooth?

Unfortunately I have already done this and I receive the same issue as "sammi".
I installed it, and it already has it installed so i overwrited it.
It's a never-ending vicious cycle with no positive end result. :(

Using Windows Live Messenger, it says I have no camera attached to it. No matter what I do, this lame laptop can not find the so called "built in camera".

Sammi's camera worked.

To use the camera under Windows Vista you need a third party utility like Windows Live Messennger.

Go to Control panel in Windows and click Classic View then Add Hardware, try manually let Windows find the device, the drivers are located under C:\Drivers\Webcam\Driver.

Just wondering, did the Webcam ever work with lenovo preloaded Windows? You can go back to factory state through lenovo OneKey Recovery as well as long as you haven't formatted the Operating System's hidden partition to see if Webcam works under that.

Also look at the following post on lenovo forum, the drivers are reported to be compatible with Windows Vista on Dell website:
cyberbob wrote:This is what i did
1. Updated Windows XP Professional SP2 (verison 5.1.2600) to the most latest and greatest update.
2. Tried to check if the camera is working .. It did not
3. Downloaded a integrated camera creative drive from dell .. website . here's the link
Link

4. Installed the above driver, restarted the system
5. After restart press Fn+Esc key .. to enable the camera. (You should see a small pic icon on the right side bottom of the screen)
6. The hardware wizard will detect a new USB Webcam and wollah ..satisfcation atlast...

Let me know if this works for you all ..
Lenovo 3000 Y410 - Bluetooth and Web Camera.

The Webcam is physically connected through one of the internal USB of your system, there is also a possibility that it's not powering up.

Nope - it doesn't work

#28 Post by morpheus2485 » Wed Dec 26, 2007 11:14 pm

First off, which camera is on my lenovo 3000 n100 0768 a49: "Chicony" or "Light on"?

In my device manager under "imaging devices", my drivers seem to be working (Manufacturer: Sonix driver version 5.7.11.203)

So I followed your instructions and downloaded 63cn09ww from the linked website (I checked and it is indeed the same file for my model machine)

This file has at least 3 different executables and no readme?!

I ran all of them and still get nothing in my scanners and cameras dialogue.

So I clicked "Add Device" "have disk" "browse"
the only .inf that this dialogue recognizes is /DRIVERS/Vista/CAMERA/Chicony/Snp2std.inf
so I try using this file and the dialog refuses to acknowledge it.

what the heck man?

You won't, see the following:

Windows Vista has no operating system-based applications or utilities to display images captured by the Integrated Camera - 3000 N100, V100 / ThinkPad R61, T61, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t.

Install a third party utility like Windows Live Messenger. The camera works with that under Windows Vista.

You gave me an interesting thought though, download one of the following softwares:

Belarc or PC Wizard and look for the chipset name of your PC-CAM Controller, if it's Sonix's then it will start with "SN9.....", once you find it, go to the following page and download the respective drivers:

Sonix - Downloads. (the webcam is categorized under "Video/Image Controlllers")
