Please, does anyone here know how to force a BIOS or embedded controller update with out a 'fully charged battery'?

Answer: QKFLASH.EXE of the diskette version BIOS flash.

This wasn't a quiz, I just happened to find it by running every executable on the floppy to see...

Here's a more useful tip-
Don't update the embedded controller if you're using one of those cheap aftermarket batteries! :)

Transalation: If your flash fails midstream due to losing power, your motherboard is fried. Having battery back-up ensures the flash will complete if you lose AC power. A fully charged battery is further insurance against the very slim odds that the above will happen (but people post elsewhere everyday that their flash failed, somehow and their mb's are ruined).
