T43 fuse replacement PIC
I have a T43, model 2686-M7U, that is having the same symptoms that other threads have mentioned, works from battery, but won't charge when plugged in. It was most likely caused by my frayed power cord
I took a leap of faith and bypassed the fuse next to the DC input jack temporarily. Luckily, the laptop started charging the battery and none of the other components blew up
However, I need to replace the fuse, but it isn't marked like the other threads have suggested, it is in the same position though. The fuse is blueish in color, but I don't see any apparent markings. I can provide pictures if it will help.
Does anyone know the rating and manufacturer of the fuse so I can order another one?

Welcome to thinkpads.com!
I haven't done much probing around a T4x motherboard (yet), but from what I've seen of T23 boards, the rating is probably around 10 amps and the manufacturer is probably Littelfuse. Both mouser.com and digikey.com sells surface mount fuses from this maker AND sells them in single unit quantities.
As usual in cases like this, a picture is indeed worth 1,000 words. If you can get a good close-up image of the part, with any type of marking or code visible, you can send it to me at the email address at the bottom of any one of my posts. Also, if you can, try to get a good measurement of the overall dimensions (length, width, height) so I can narrow down the search.

Re: T43 fuse replacement PIC
Thanks again forum.thinkpads! I bought a T43p cheaply yesterday that was described as running from battery but wouldn't run from power or charge the battery.
I tested F2 and, sure enough, it was open circuit. I put on my cheap 3.5x supermarket glasses and got my $10 Jaycar soldering iron out and, with a lot of patience and a bit of solder wick, removed an F2 from a donor T43. I then piggy-backed it onto the T43p and now it's working perfectly!
So, thanks to this forum (and some fiddly work) I got a laptop that would normally sell for NZ$300+ for NZ$100!
Thanks again to all of the folks who contribute here, between you you've helped me indulge my passion for ThinkPads, taught me a lot and have also saved me money!
