570E - 2644 - 6BG - Ser No 55708KF -instal WinXP

#1 Post by blangsdale » Thu Jun 04, 2009 5:13 am

The Bios info is: American Megetrands V. PI40 (date 10.7.2003) - Plug & Play version 1.00 - SMBIOS/DMA v. 2.30 - EEPROM size 256kb (2MB).

I have looked through the past posts but cannot find the information I require - I am sorry if I missed this!

I have built my own desktops but this is my 1st laptop!

I need to change the OS presently running from (2000K) to Win XP

I do have a new and sealed MS Win XP installation CD with COA etc.

My applications are compatible with Win XP.

Would any members here PLEASE tell me how to update the BIOS if necessary and any other actions I need to take.

THANK YOU for any kind assistance.

Brian

Thank you harryc.

I have created a diskette with BIOS 1.07 (iuet26ww)

Are there any complicated instructions during install please?

I kbnow that the whole process must be performed without turning off or suspending the laptop.

Regards.

Brian

Nothing complicated. See the Installation instructions at the link above. It won't work unless you have a good/charged battery installed.
