I ordered my x200s, w/ the WXGA+ screen two weeks ago, and the Expected Shipping Date has hovered at 9/16/09 :(

I checked Lenovo's website yesterday, and it appears that they took off the WXGA+ screen option for ordering new X200s... what gives?

I just ordered a fully loaded X200 tablet yesterday: 1.86 GHz CPU, 128 GB SSD, 3 GB RAM, new enhanced mutitouch display, webcam, fingerprint reader, Bluetooth, Intel 5100 wifi, 8-cell battery, UltraBase with CD-RW DVD ROM, Vista business. Ship date is Oct 30!!!

Two items I wanted but weren't available were Windows 7 and the faster 2.1 GHz processor. I'm going to call Lenovo to see if I can get the system to ship with Windows 7, since it is supposed to ship after the Oct 22 release date. I'll also inquire about the faster CPU. I intend to nuke Vista and install Windows 7 at the earliest opportunity.

I'm going to use my X200 tablet on the road for one-on-one presentations to prospective clients (this is why I like the swivel screen and tablet functionality) and pair the machine with two 24" monitors in my home office. I'm really psyched to get this computer - I've been researching this purchase for several months now.

Regards,
Mark

Ordered an X200s on Tues/Wed (2x2 screen, 160GB 7200 drive). Earlier that day, the estimated ship date was 10/17. Then when I checked out, it was 10/19.
Today, I got an email that my system was done and being shipped. Woot!

Perhaps the good folks at Lenovo have resurrected the forgotten art of underpromise / overdeliver. I'm going nuts here waiting for my tablet with a 10/30 ship date, even thinking of postponing a meeting until I have my new machine, then today I get an email that the system has shipped. Woot, indeed!

My order was pushed back to 12/21 today from 11/26. I had called on Wednesday 11/25 and was told my laptop would be shipping by the end of this week. I asked no less then 10 times and was pretty much guaranteed on the phone that it would ship this week. Sadly I will be canceling my order with them right now - this is just unacceptable customer service and I can't support a company that treats its customers this way. It is obvious they knew before I even placed my order how long it would take to fulfill. If they had been honest from the beginning I probably still would have ordered the tablet.

Update: When calling to cancel my order they offered incentives for me to keep my order but I declined. There is absolutely no chance that I could possibly believe my laptop would be shipping by 12/21 after they so emphatically promised me it would ship on 11/26. If they did delay your order and you are not planning on canceling still call and complain so you can at the least get an additional rebate on your order.

What incentives did they offer?

Well, he offered to talk to his supervisor to see what they could offer. I denied before he could come back with anything. I have heard they usually give $100-$200 additional rebate but am unsure.

X200

7454CT Configured System

1/31 Ordered, with two day shipping (probably makes no difference for shipment from Shanghai -- mine came via UPS World Ease Expedited service). Estimated ship date: 2/9

2/10 (U.S. time) Receive shipping notice from Lenovo
2/11 (Shanghai time) UPS Billing Information received
2/11 10:14 a.m. Shanghai origin scan
2/12 5:10 p.m. Shanghai Hub scan
2/13 3:22 a.m. Shanghai departure scan

I guess it didn't make it on the plane, because

2/14 3:06 a.m. (Shanghai time) another Shanghai departure scan
2/13 6:00 p.m. (U.S. time) Anchorage arrival scan
2/13 7:41 p.m. Anchorage departure scan
2/14 8:08 a.m. Louisville arrival scan

It sat in Louisville for 2.5 days

2/16 11:59 a.m. Louisville Import scan
2/16 5:19 p.m. Louisville departure scan
2/16 about 7 p.m. Philadelphia arrival scan
2/17 about 5 a.m. Philadelphia out for delivery
2/17 about 9 a.m. -- In my hands

Looks great. A nice little machine, although the panel covering the webcam looks like the adhesive might have come a little loose. It feels like half the weight comes from the 9-cell battery.

As far as shipping goes, I got it six days later than expected, mostly thanks to UPS and U.S. Customs.

My x301 supposedly shipped yesterday, but the tracking number is in a totally incorrect format:

1ZUPSAxxxxxx

The UPS tracker says "huh". When I called Lenovo, they "checked Fedex", but it didn't work there either. Obviously, no clue. And no help on what the real tracking number might be.

Still, I'm concerned - a search of the web revealed something like this happening in Dec 2007, and everyone had delayed shipments.

Anyone else encountering this, or am I an isolated case?

Where's it shipping from and where was it ordered? The Twilight Zone? I thought there ware no x301's available. As long as you are not billed no worry braddah. I'm sure they will straighten it out for you.

Unfortunately I WAS billed on 5/11.

I ASSUME shipped from China to Kansas - but with an invalid number --- who knows?

My X201:
Ordered June 24
Manufactured June 27
Shipped June 28
Delivered July 6

My experience is not typical. Another buyer I know ordered on July 5 and Received it today, July 7. He lives in Maryland.
We both opted for the "2-day business" shipping.
Go figure!

Just ordered an X201i today (8/15).

When checking out, it quoted me an estimated ship time of 18 days.

However my receipt page shows an estimated ship date of 9/28

When I check the order status, that gives an estimated ship date of 9/30

[UPDATE]
Received an email today (8/26) saying my X201i shipped.

[UPDATE]
Received my X201i from UPS on (9/1).

I placed an order for a 3249CTO X201 on Aug 6, and the expected shipping date at that time was Aug 18. The order status page consistently showed Aug 18. Today (Aug 18) the order status abruptly changed to a shipping date of Sep 15. I called and canceled the order today...or at least requested that it be canceled. We'll see.

I think it's an outrage that Lenovo should initially offer a 9 day shipping interval and then abruptly delay the ship date for the 3249CTO X201 by a month, while at the same time offering the 3249A25 X201 with a 4 day shipping offer.

I ordered my wife's X201 from Lenovo on Cyber Monday (November 29). It arrived December 8--just 9 days later. Everything was in order. Trust me, this wasn't an off-the-shelf unit: I specified 7 or 8 internal options.

I don't know if anyone else took advantage of the current deal advertised on the thinkpads.com front page but I certainly did. Ordered a fairly decked out X201 sans dock - I can get the dock cheaper on Amazon.com with a spare power supply, after I recover from the sticker shock of the laptop itself. I7, 4 gigs of ram, 500 gig HD, and I nixed the webcam and touchpad, although I went for the fingerprint reader. End cost was $1188 with tax. I have an estimated ship date of January 26th, but my inner gadget nerd/three year old child wants his new toy NOW. :D

I'll update my post here if my shipping info changes. I'm looking forward to seeing if the Lenovo quality is up to par with my previous IBM branded Thinkpads.

Edit: Bad news already - I've been pushed back to a very vague "Week of the 30th of January" according to the Indian call center rep I spoke with. It seems that they have some issue with my 500gb HDD - the same one that was in the "web special" configuration that I selected with a turnaround of 5 days. I sure hope this doesn't continue, I'm headed to a conference on the 9th of February and I'll kinda need my new laptop. The old X41 and it's reliance on the power supply won't quite cut the mustard.

Sometimes, it just can't be helped. Congrats on the machine. It looks pretty sweet. I thought about getting one myself too, but I don't see the X220 offering me much over what I have now.

Then you must not really use your laptop very much (hinting at the availability of a decent display on the X220). :P

I almost loved my X301 and my X300, but just couldn't get over the screen. I always found myself adjusting to find that "sweet spot" for good viewability. Needless to say, it was very annoying, especially during group project meetings... Ah, I miss my X200 tablet..... IMHO, a good display is better/just as good as a good keyboard.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just saw your sig. You have the X200T, so now I understand your statement!
