We are family

#1 Post by Tasurinchi » Wed Jan 20, 2010 3:45 pm

Hi Everybody...

My X31 will go middle February to one of my best friends. I had the time today to pack my whole bunch of Thinkpads and make a photo side by side. I did also some "dark" photos copying the idea of Utwig in this forum.

I apologize for the bad quality, but my small digicam is really crap with poor light. And err... ignore the mess

Enjoy them!

The complete familiy:

Very good! :D A nice little collection of ThinkPads there! I just hope that mine keeps on going! I've already lost one (and was quite upset about it!)
Good luck with the restorations by the way! :D

Nice collection, it looks like some of them are running dual boot?

Actually not, I'm not a big fun of dual boot. Why have two OSs when only one can do the job?

To make my answer, clearer - I run a dual boot between XP Pro SP3 and Vista Ultimate SP2 on my new HP, XP Pro is better for the gaming but Vista Ultimate is better for working, I find. I like them both and have no problems using either of them.

Well, having different OSs is hard to compare. Let's say that for daily browsing and emailing there shouldn't be any notable difference in performance. Now my X31 has the faster drive, but the graphic chipset of X40 may be faster.

At the end of the day I really don't notice a difference. I should run some benchmarks one of these days, but I should then install the same OS to do a fair comparison.

Hope this helps...

Cheers
