Hi I just got my Edge 14" (Also my first thinkpad) yesterday, and the keyboard backlight isn't on, does anyone know where the setting is or what the keyboard shortcut is to turn it on?

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

From what I gather not all Edge systems will have the backlit keyboard option. If yours does, then this document:

http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... 5y4358.pdf

says that it's controlled by the Fn+Space key combination.

Thanks, I'm a little irked because I can't find out exactly what causes it to come with the backlight- (I got it custom ordered and back light was not even an option- silly me assumed it was standard.) I can't even send it back because I need it for a month-long business trip I'm going on in a week. I know it's a small feature- but it's one I really wanted. 'specially cause the Edge doesn't have the thinklight.

You might want to get a USB "Snakelight" to provide some illumination.

Hi,

I bought thinkpad edge 0578-PNQ which doesn't come with backlit keyboard. Now that I want to embed the same, how do I do that?
