What tune is currently stuck in your head? I normally can't stand this type of sugary pop and I really dislike Snoop but at the moment it's:

Katy Perry California Gurls.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwE-SLnLkqY

So what's currently stuck in a loop in your mind right now?

After seeing your user name I can't get "I've got a brand new combine harvester" by the Wurzels out of my head. It was to the tune of "I've got a brand new pair of roller skates".

For me, it is currently Der Trunkene im Frühling from Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde.

Happy to be shot of the Wurzels for a minute or two, I have just been listening to "Wish you were here" album by Pink Floyd and that has stuck, especially "Shine on you Crazy Diamond".

The words to John Newton's heartfelt "Amazing Grace", sung to the light and bouncy tune of the "Gilligan's Island" Theme....

Somehow that got into my head years ago, and its seems to have stuck forever!

Cheers,

There's a garage band that practices 2 doors down the block from my house. I fixed one of their amps recently. I think they are way too cool to stay in a garage forever. 8) They play local clubs around San Jose. I've been hearing "He Keeps Me" in my head all afternoon. See them at: http://www.myspace.com/vashingting

Well...finally got Danny Wilson "Mary's Prayer" out of my head. Of course I didn't know all the words so it was just the chorus looping around in my head for the next 3 days.

Since I got a new job working at home I decided to break out the 320GB HD chock full of music.

Up for review today:

The Phantom of The Opera

I saw this in person 3 times, 1 of them with Michael Crawford starring as the Phantom. Man it pure awesome.

My favorite songs are: Music of the Night, Notes / Primaddona, Maquerade. All though the whole opera is awesome so it is really hard for me to pick out favorites. If you have not heard Michael Crawford sing "Music of the Night", then you should. That guy has an awesome singing voice.

Music rarely gets stuck in my head, but for a while I have been listening a lot to various Marillion songs. A shot from the top of their career, while Fish was still in the band (even though in a terrible costume) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJrpHRY-Neo

Recently I also ran across a nice old Fleetwood Mac song that I hadn't heard in years: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=551DlcPIFso

Last, a song that be described as being stuck in my head ever since I bought Pink Floyd's A Momentary Lapse of Reason as a cassette tape in 1987. (I didn't buy a cd player before a year or so later..) In my ears, a guitar solo can't be done better than what David Gilmour does during the last 2 minutes of this song.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX_Fu6JW0fM

Interesting to see this video. I have listened to some of the stuff Peter Green did with John Mayall, but not so much the songs he did with Fleetwood Mac. This song for sure confirms that the Buckingham/Nicks duo added a different style to Fleetwood Mac. A couple of my FM favorites are from their 1987 Tango In the Night album, which is even farther from what they once started out as.
