Gigabyte Air Cruiser N300 - will it work with X31 ?

#1 Post by Wind » Sat Sep 11, 2010 4:44 pm

I have this wife card, never used it before. My X31 needs wifi card but I know there are some limitations. Can anybody confirm will this card work in X31 ?
Or, what is best card for X31 ?
Thx.

OK, forget my previous question, I know already this is not a suitable card for X31.
I thought I did not have any wifi card, but was not quite sure so I removed the keyboard and I found Intel Model WM382100...but its not visible in Device Manager at all ? What am I to do to get this card working ? I tried to find proper driver in Lenovo site and I downloaded some from there but this is Cisco or something, not Intel...
I do not understand why this card is not at all listed in Device Manager ? (also there is not any "Unknown Device") ?

The card might have broken. Do you have any other laptops around so you can borrow any modem or wireless card, and check if it works in your X31?

On an X31 the Intel 2200bg IBM version will turn the Centrino power conservation on. A regular Intel card wont. If you look around you can normally find them for less than $10.00 USD shipped.
Here is an old eBay sale for the right card:

Thank you, I will try another card. (Mine is 2100 not 2200).

I dont think so.........
If I were to try, It would require an "IBM Intel" card and the latest BIOS update. Even then Im afraid it would not work. But you have little to loose in the try!
