Hm... I would wait until it's available on Lenovo.com for customization. I'd get more options to choose from and probably cheaper. Plus, that ship date on costcentral doesn't look reliable at all.

My X200t has the Hydis AFFS+ LED LCD. It's quite good. I get a bit more vertical real estate too. Nothing I do on my tablet requires a ton of CPU usage, so for me, the cost to benefit ratio is low.

What is your estimated cost for that beauty, if you don't mind me asking? I'm not feeling too hurt, considering my I7 equipped X201 only set me back $1121 before tax in January, but if the second gen I5 (which benchmarks better) comes in at a better deal, with slightly better benchmarks, I might just have to kick myself. Once.

Congrats on the purchase!

I must say X220 looks like a very sweet machine. If the indepth reviews are as praising as the "first looks", then there is almost no question this will eventually be the successor to my 2007-QPG. :)

Just got my shipping notice from Shanghai on my X201. Anyone have an idea how long it might take to reach the east coast NJ to be specific? It's ground. They shipped 9 days ahead of schedule. Great deal on x201, i7, 500GB, 4GB, 9 cell battery, better wifi. $752

I'd like to echo Ivan's request for stats on X220 idle power usage (wattage)...

Test results on review sites so far were ~8.5 hours with the 6-cell, a smidge over 12 hours with the 9-cell, so I'm figuring (assuming the same 94Wh 9-cell battery capacity that the X201 had) about 7.833W - but that's with 70% brightness and constantly reloading a web page over WiFi... I'm hoping for less than 5W idle. Just imagine the battery life for reading PDFs and such - at 4.5W with the 9-cell you'd get about 20 hours... with the slice (how much does that have? 80Wh?) you'd be looking at over 30 hours.

I ordered my X201 Tablet on March 30th. Shipping's now been delayed four times. Of course they wait 'til a few days before it's supposed to go and I'm really excited, then yank the hidden fishing line and it jumps out another week. Just moved to May 7th.

Ordered the 4296-2YU from CostCentral on 4/25. Got a delivery today!.....But it was only the Ultraslim Power Supply. Cool device, but not quite as cool as getting the actual computer would have been.

I can't find the extended battery in the configurator on Lenovo's web shop - has it been removed?

Probably sold out. I remember when I was customizing my laptop, the extended battery option was noted to delay shipment by 4 weeks.

Speaking of shipment, my X220 went out on the 30th. Hopefully UPS delivers it by Friday. I'm feeling particularly impatient...

I ordered an X220 tablet. (i5, multitouch, 6300 wifi with 3x3 antenna, fingerprint reader, single 4 GB dimm.) Estimated shipping: about 3 weeks after order date. This will be my second Thinkpad, and so I know that when Lenovo estimates something to take that with a grain of salt.

To all of those lurkers out there: yes, it will come. It will take a bit longer than it should, but it will come, and it will be worth it. I'd pay a bit more for better information as to when it will be shipped, and what the hold-ups are, but the machine I have was well worth the wait. This next one will be worth the wait, too. I used to be a Mac person, and those machines are well made, but the Thinkpad blows it out of the water.

Still. I'm waiting. Which has driven me to post on this forum. Yay! Sigh.

Make that five times; they just delayed to June 7th. Now over two months late.

Got my X220 today. I'm really liking the keyboard. It feels lighter than the X61s I've been using and the screen is brighter and has better color, but it has a bigger footprint. The wide screen takes some getting used to. I really dont like the latchless lid, though. Theres a bit of fan noise, I can see how that can annoy some people.

I have yet to say which I prefer.

Ordered X220, i7, premium screen with 6300 WiFi and extended battery on 5/11. Expected ship date is 6/24. Selecting a new unit was a contest between aging eyes (wanted a 520) and aging back (got the X220). However, working with the 201T has convinced me that the smaller ones have the display power for an external monitor and a keyboard that make the small units OK.

It'll be interesting to see when this actually arrive and how much the special features delay it.

We are getting a bunch of 4290-2WU units which have a much earlier expected ship date (but no one here has actually told me what it is yet).

This will be the 16th ThinkPad for me and members of my immediate family. Everything from the T43 forward still is in use at home or at the office, all running with Windows 7. The X23 also still is in use sometimes with a new battery, Win XPSP3, a stunning 640 MB of RAM and a USB WiFi N adapter. Since the X60T got a SSD it runs almost as fast as the X201T. These things are almost ageless and indestructible

Just ordered my X220 (i7-2620M, 4GB Single DIMM, Premium, Intel 6502, Intel 160GB SSD, FP, BT, Camera, 9 cell) today. Estimated ship date is 06/06/11.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to "downgrade" the battery to a 6-cell so if any of you are getting a X220 with a 6-cell and want 9-cell upgrade, check out my WTT ad in the marketplace. Dunno if I'm allowed to cross-post within sub-forums but here's the link. Mods, let me know if this isn't OK and I'll edit and remove it...

It left the factory on 5/29 (International date line) and arrived in Anchorage, AK on 5/28. Then in Kentucky on 5/29.
It sat there for 3 days (Memorial Weekend and clearing customs). I thought it was really a fast ship considering it was the Free shipping.

I paid 1200.80 for this but when I did a test build for the Memorial Day sale it would have been $79.00 more. I guess the 2 free upgrades was a better deal. Also the base price went up during the Memorial Day sale.

I got an email that "parts shortages" would delay my 6/7 shipment date.

the only hard to get part I ordered was the Intel 160 Gb SSD.
