When did the price of 2.5" laptop hard drives go way up???
Just went online looking to upgrade the T410 i have.
It have a 320/7200 drive now. Great fast drive but could use a bigger one.
Prices of a 500 or 750 gig drive is now around the 150.00+ (give or take a bit from different sites).

It wasn't that long ago i was looking at new WD blue 500gig's for 69.99.
Prices are on CDN from Canada sites .

Google for "thailand flooding hard drive shortage" and you'll get the gory details. Some estimates are that things won't be back to "normal" till Q3 2012 or so. My personal hope is this drives the price of SSD's down to a more reasonable level and brings the 500gb SSD drives into more of a realistic price level.

WOW...
After searching more about the hard drive prices because of the flooding,i see why there so much now...

But after searching more i do find some good prices on 750/7200 drives and prices of SSD are drooping.
Now i have to decide if i want a big 750gig drive or a much much faster SSD about 120/160gig.

Most stores in my area are restricting HDD sales to a strict one per customer due to the flooding.
