Yes. I bought a copy of "Jumpstart Adventures" at the Salvation Army today to start building a collection and was looking for any educational software that fit 3rd-6th grades. I may not be able to install them on the school network but I can sure use them on the separate PCs.

That's great. It seemed like such a waste to keep them sitting on my shelf. I will get them packaged up and let you know when they are shipped.

Got two laptops this week from a very generous person. I'm working this weekend to get them ready to go. What an awesome benefit for the kids.

If you need any "legal" software, let me know. I have access to quite a bit.

Out there looking for any educational software that I can load onto the HD of either the laptops or I guess a server I'd need to put in if my ad hoc wifi network is a no go.

I have two laptops up today and running on wifi and set Symbaloo, a virtual bookmark manager up so the kids have a front door with only those links I want them to click on. The Ad Hoc still has the District's filter, so I'm not worried about that.

When they do work in our "stations" I have to make sure it is directly tied to what we're helping them learn this week or in this unit. Can't just put them on for babysitting. So getting the hardware right means I have to get the software right. Tempted to use Google Docs on each since it's free, or put Edbuntu on each, but they are third and 4th graders not tech geeks.

So we'll ease into it this week and see how it goes.

I really appreciate the help you guys have given. Just had one kid tested and he's got a 67 IQ so I'll be teaching him at below 3rd level which effectively means I'll be teaching three curricula simultaneously.

sweet!

I have a box full of P4 CPU's DDR1/2 RAM and older ATAT hard drives ranging from 8GB to 120GB. I also have a P4 mobo w/ 2GB RAM and it features a hyperthreaded 3.2GHz CPU and a 128MB AGP video card.

Let me know if you are interested in anything.

Thanks a lot! I'm covered up until school is over but I'll definitely get back with you once I can breathe.
