R60 BIOS 2.23 with Slic/no whitelist wanted

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Thu Jan 12, 2012 6:30 pm

Anybody have a link for the R60 BIOS as modified at MyDigitalLife?
Lenovo Thinkpad R60 (Type 9456-ERJ)_2.23 (7cuj26us)_Lenovo21_SSv2.zip
All links found there point to: http://rghost.net/13874881
That file was deleted and is now available via a USENET link.
I'm looking for a download where you do NOT have to sign up for a free trial and give Credit Card details.
Or PM me if you have the file and can email it to me in a ZIP- or RAR-file.
Thanks in advance.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Have one (sorry its not the 26us version, just one behind), I also tried it on my Thinkpad R60 (9457-7hu) if the bios update 7cuj25us applies to your model then it should work.

7cuj25us BIOS:
7cuj25us_CB-01_SLIC21.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/?5mqc7fyv5pewp16

Also the 7euj22us BIOS:
7euj22us_OA21.rar
http://www.mediafire.com/?23a8ednv9ex5rj1

Lenovo Certificate:
http://www.mediafire.com/?3d4a4pyu4l7a2m4
To use OEM activation method you need 3 things:
- A SLIC table in your bios.
- A digital certificate installed in Windows that matches the SLIC in your bios.
- A SLP product key installed in Windows.

Before you install Windows make sure your bios has a SLIC table.
(SLP 2.0 SLIC is for Vista only. SLP 2.1 SLIC is for both Vista & Win7.)

After installing Windows, install the cert (.xrm-ms) which matches the SLIC in your bios.

To install the cert:

1) Copy the .xrm-ms file to C:\

2) Right click Command Prompt and Run as Administrator.

3) At the prompt type:

slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\CERT.XRM-MS

where CERT.XRM-MS is the name of the file.

Finally, install a SLP product key. You can enter it in the System control panel,
or run from the Administrator command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

where XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX is the product key

Thanks for the effort, but I really want V2.23.
I already have those older versions.

Time to revive this again, the download link for the SLIC version 2.23 with whitelist mod is down, only the one without SLIC remains.

Does anyone have an alternate link?

Edit: oh darn, the first link works :D

Edit2: on the other hand, that is not a bootable image file update, oh well gotta' install Windows to do this...

Edit3: oooh, the one in the original post is SLIC only, I still need a v2.23 SLIC and whitelist modded bios for R60.

I got the file (current link to the post is https://forums.mydigitallife.net/thread ... ost-460870), the version with both SLIC 2.1 and white list removed, however, flashing it using bootable USB flash drive (Win 7 x86-64) brought no change - RWE still reports SLIC 2.0. Flash did work though, I got new splash logo :D

Is it confirmed that the file should work??

Think I got the problem - the DOS image automatically flashes the $01A6000.FL1/$01A6000.FL2 images, not the $01A6000_SL_WL.ROM. The question is, how to make the DOS program to flash the $01A6000_SL_WL.ROM and ignore possible wrong checksum?
