hi,

i just installed 64-bit windows 7 ultimate on my t61 (8895-5ym). windows 7 installed an audio driver that was able to make the speakers work but no headphone sound. i installed the soundmax driver from lenovo, now both the speakers and headphones have sound. the problem is they are both working simultaneously. how do i turn off the speaker when using headphones? (i'm using headphones so i will not disturb other people.)

thanks,
jay

Interesting. I thought speakers turned off due to a circuit closing in the headphone jack when the plug was inserted, not because of a software setting.
