G40 is boned....... Please help
First time on the forum and i come seeking advice. I have a g40 that i got refurbished through a radio show contest. Over the years it has picked up a couple of viruses that the cleaner can't remove. Long story short it has come time to format and start fresh.
I have read from a number of sources online that i should be able to run a recovery from a hidden partition by pressing f11 during my boot sequence. I have tried the access IBM button, but it only brings me into the startup interrupt menu. I can boot in safe mode, but my regular desktop is pretty spotty. I do not have the recovery CDs. When i got the computer it came in a box with a charger and nothing else.
If i haven't already made it obvious I am not super well versed in advanced computer topics so any instructions about how to proceed would be appreciated in the simplest terms possible.
I will now bow to the collective wisdom of the internet.

Welcome to the forum!
Chances are that the hard drive was wiped somewhere along the way and that the recovery partition is gone.
Try using the Safe Mode to restore the machine to an earlier date, and start the cleanup from there.
Should the aforementioned course of action fail to yield results, you'll have to obtain a set of recovery disks.
Good luck.

Any direction as to where i should go to get the recovery disk set? I have done a little looking around online and it seems i could get a truly legit one from lenovo or take my chances with random website and save some money. Anyone know a good site to get this thing?
