I don't often brag about Thinkpad deals, but today it is time to celebrate because it took me (2) years to find this model T23 with internal WiFi and 1400x1050 LCD, and I won it for $52 shipped. The extras are nice as well. In particular the Eagle Creek Laptop Carrying Case caught my eye....those have a lifetime warranty.

You've got to pop a 32 to 64GB SSD in there and a G adapter. That's a great machine. Congrats. $52. Just 512MB of RAM for a T23 was $52 not long ago.

@rkawakami, I should have known Ray...I don't think that's the first time we both bid on the same T23 :). @RBS, thanks!. @Underclocker, like minds think alike. I ordered a 2200bg cad today and was also looking at IDE SSD's.

I seen that auction and was thinking of bidding on it but didn't. I have 2 T23's (neither have built in wifi) but one has the 1400x1050 screen and I upgraded it to 1GB PC133 (think it was $28 shipped for 2 x 512MB).

They realy are nice machines.

My Latitude D630 was a hell of a deal. Bought it off of a 20 year old girl for $75. She had it listed as it running VERY slow and wouldn't do anything. So I bit the bullet and shelled out the $75 for it. Brought it home and fixed it. All it needed was the correct 90W AC Adapter (60W one was making it run at 798MHz per core) and a fresh install of XP. Works perfectly now. Oh, and it's in great shape.

Specs -
2.4 Core 2 Duo
2 gigs of RAM
120GB 7200rpm SATA HD
CD/DVD DL burner
Oh... and the fail-proof Intel GMA X3100 graphics instead of the crap nVidia graphics... chip separates from the board and fries it.

I just wanted to mention that Eagle Creek is an awesome company. Not only do they have a lifetime warranty, but they make good on a defective item return quickly. I shipped them this laptop sleeve and it had worn velcro on the flap. They sewed brand new velcro strips in it and sent it back to me good as new in under 2 weeks at no charge. It was impressive and they didn't ask for a receipt.

Both of my Thinkpads were free ... until I had to replace the motherboards. :( They aren't computers, but I got a pair of metal cabinets like these free too. 9-drawer Equipto cabinets with a massive wooden top covering both. They hold tools and parts for my old car hobby. I've bought a few things at real-world auctions that were great bargains. Never bought any computers at those auctions, only tools.

Not computer related, but saved a ton of money hehe

I got a brand new compressor for my 1996 Astro for 170 bucks shipped.

I changed it this weekend on my own and saved myself roughly 1300 bucks. A local garage quoted me 1500 for a new compressor (The old one was leaking on the main body from the seals).

Just a couple hours out of my weekend, and now my old truck has air conditioning again. So happy

A T60p (2623-DDU) with a beautiful UXGA Flexview screen, in absolute mint condition, for less than $85 (shipped) over eBay. The seller advertised that it had a disk read error. It turned out to be a BIOS setting. I threw in a like-new Seagate Momentus XT (purchased over eBay for under $60), and my new laptop works like a champ! The screen alone is worth more than I paid for the laptop!

@dr_st: What a shame. :o I bought a Xerox Phaser 6110n nearly 3 years ago and it is far better than any other printer I have ever owned. It works well, has never gone wrong, and the print quality is excellent. 8)

That's a stunning deal!

I have one recent purchase to brag about as well. I was one of the lucky people who bought a $149 (plus tax) 32GB TouchPad on HP's web site.

I snagged a 16GB Touchpad by buying it the night before (at Walmart, the only place open at 11pm) and the next day returning it and buying it again.

I also just bought a T61p for $310 on eBay, 15.4" with FX570m. We'll see how long it takes for the gfx to crap out but it comes with a nine-month warranty from the seller (for whatever good that does) and if not I guess Ican try to bake the board.

Hmm...I found a Marantz receiver for $30, that seems pretty good...

T-Mobile HTC HD2 just has a bad Motherboard that overheats, then a few days after I got it got a good HD2 HTC all works great but has a cracked screen, Motherboards going to replace the bad Motherboard in the other one... If I don't repair it myself it'll be a 70 dollar fix for one of the most versatile and customizable speedy phones ever made... Both were free from friends who just had them laying around collecting dust and not being used.

Unlocked and rooted upgraded to newest stable rom AT&T Dell Streak Mini 5 $150.00 bucks, perfect for my portable surfing needs. No need for anything larger than a 7 inch screen, how ya gunna carry a 7 incher around in your pocket? LoL

Sanyo BetaCORD BetaMAX Player at a local thrift store 5 bucks, might sell my old broken one on ebay now as is for parts or easy fixer upper to another collector.

First generation fully backward compatable PS3 for Ps2 and Ps1 games with 4 usb ports memory card bay, as is 75 bucks 100 bucks to replace a bad blu-ray drive and added a 500Gb hard drive to it.

Got a perfect OPEN sign (for e.g. a shop) with super bright LED technology (30.0 x 18.0 x 2.0).
Image
eBayer sold it for $20.- as defect, not-working, although it was brand-spanking-new.
Opened it up, found a poorly soldered power transistor, fixed that in about 40 seconds, and now it fully works.
These signs go anywhere from $200.- upwards.

Just picked up a Roku 2 XS with a 16Gb microSD memory card in it at a yard sell for $40.00 bucks... Normally these sell for 100 bucks with only a 2Gb microSD memory card in it.

So I'm happy I returned my Sony Bravio cause the internet web apps stopped working and got a JVC the same size for 400 bucks less that did all I wanted minus the web apps, so I got lucky that I found that Roku for so cheap.

Just bought my first-ever Gateway laptop through eBay for a fairly good deal: Gateway NX860X, 17.0" 1920x1200, 500GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Core2 Duo T5500 ... for $90.36 shipped. It was so cheap because the touchpad and WiFi weren't working and the seller listed it for parts, but I got both fixed and now I have a fully functional laptop with a huge HDD and an awesome screen!

I bought a T43p 2668-PEG (P M 2.13GHz, 2GB ram, 40GB HDD, 14'' SXGA+, V3200) the other day for ~40$.

And today I just bought an X41 for 30$ (P M 1.5GHz, 1.5GB ram, 40GB HDD, GMA 950, 12'' XGA) and an X61s for 150$ (C2D L7600 1.6GHz, 2GB ram, 160GB HDD, X3100, 12'' XGA)

Very nice laptops imo, all complete with Charger and battery.

Picked up a Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 for £100 + £7.50 P&P at the end of the May for my rig. Works well, can max out most games at 1080p, may get another one and then CrossFire them. :D
