T43 is not stating with a USB HDD in the dockstation

#1 Post by mosul1975 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:32 am

Hi *,

I have a issue with my T43.
If I have a USB HDD connected to the dock station, the laptop is not starting. Is trying to boot up from the USB HDD.
This is happening only with the USB connector from the dockstation. If the HDD is pluged into the Laptop USB there is no issue.
In bios I did not setup to start the computer from any USB HDD.

It it something that I can do? Something that I can set up in the BIOS?

Thanks

Check this out, for the T43 the relevant section is the same as in this T42 BIOS simulator.
Click on Startup, then on Boot.
Your screen might be different, having different sequence etc.
You'll see a USB HDD. If it is in the 'Excluded' part, highlight it (in YOUR BIOS) and hit F5/F6 to move it.
From the start screen, also check under Config/USB that it is enabled.

Once the USB HDD is in the list, press F12 at boot, to select it for Starting from that USB HDD.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
