X220 BIOS downgrade

#1 Post by velani » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:54 am

Hello,

I have about 1 year old x220 with BIOS from that time. All was working fine, boot time and shut down time were awesome. I did not make note of BIOS version it was running.

Last evening, I checked into System Update and noticed a BIOS update to v1.28 released on 02/14/2012 and installed it. Now I see a much longer boot time and shut down time. Has anyone noticed something similar?

Question:
1. Is there a way to downgrade my BIOS to the previous version?
2. I used the BIOS update utility and it said something like "it will backup the ols BIOS". Where can I find that on my TP?
3. What is the method used to downgrade and is it proven safe (as best as possible when upgrading BIOS)?

TIA for your input. I really am not enjoying these longer boot and shut down cycle.

1.29 is the latest version so you might try upgrading before downgrading.

older versions are at the bottom if you need them.   i've not had any issues with 1.28 or 1.29 and currently run 1.29.
