DVI adapter issue

#1 Post by JerzeeDevil » Wed Jun 27, 2012 10:37 pm

The DVI port on the T60 dock won't accept the four pins around the solitary blade on a DVI to component cable. Will a DVI-D to DVI-I adapter work?

If it doesn't accept them, it means that the port is not able to transmit an analog DVI signal. Therefore adapters won't work, and a converter is needed.

Have you considered a VGA to component converter?

If you do get component via DVI I am correct in thinking you've lost the digital quality so you might as well use VGA? Why not go VGA to VGA then without converting to component?

You are right, assuming there is a VGA-to-VGA option.
