Online Petition to Bring Back 7 Rows Keyboard Layout
Dear all ThinkPad users,
I just created an online petition regarding this keyboard layout issue, as well as the chiclet style keys issue.
If you agree with my opinion, please sign the petition here:

Thanks for your support! May our wishes will come true!

What, are you 12 and doing a project for a social studies class?
Lenovo doesn't care about your on-line petition.
Bring Lenovo an order for 15,000 ThinkPads with a 7-row keyboard and they'll listen.

And they wouldn't care about that either if it involved shipping out 15,000 *30 series machines with conventional keyboards.bapatterson wrote: Bring Lenovo an order for 15,000 ThinkPads with a 7-row keyboard and they'll listen.
The game is now in millions of units.
I'm sure that OP knows that Lenovo doesn't care about his petition.
But at least he made an effort to make his position and dissatisfaction known...

I'm certain you're correct. They don't care one bit, because "they" have no idea anyone is objecting.bapatterson wrote:

How else do we end up with 16:9, chiclets, 4-pound "ultraportables" and a host of other ills?
But it doesn't hurt to act like the citizens of Whoville and try to be heard.

Re: Online Petition to Bring Back 7 Rows Keyboard Layout
I'm sure they have good idea some people are objecting. They also have probably reasons to believe that some people will like the new layout better. What they may not know for sure is how many are in each camp, and in the end (which is all they as a corporation care about) - how will the sales be affected.

Yes, I know that there is little chance that Lenovo will listen to us
But, at least I already did something rather than just sit and see this happening.

Re: Online Petition to Bring Back 7 Rows Keyboard Layout
Since has been proven that old classic ThinkPad keyboard physically fits in new models (X230 for example) I think that introducing a BIOS setting allowing to use the old keyboard would be enough. Lenovo could sell them as an upgrade option for those who can't stand the new stupid layout.

Give Lenovo some resistance on the new 6-row keyboard!
Why not give Lenovo some resistance on the new cheap 6-row keyboard - they are asking for it!

What are they thinking with that downgrade? Are they trying to become manufacturer that produces only cheap bulk with low margin?
I think I'll buy a new X220 while they're still sold..

Re: Give Lenovo some resistance on the new 6-row keyboard!
I posted a comment on there already... and yes jumped at an X220 to avoid the 6 row nonsense.
Cynical thought: maybe it's a marketing ploy as my X200s was mighty fine, although my new X220 is even better, even allowing for the 16:9 screen (which more than makes up for the lake of pixels with glorious IPS quality).
