Something new you've got! *PICS*
Hi all
After having a similar thread running at another forum that I'm active on, I thought: Why not have one here as well.
This thread, is for those who want to show off their new stuff. It could be your new Thinkpad, your new car, your new haircut, even your new nephew if that's what you feel like posting.
Of course, used items you just got is good to post as well.
It's your own choice if you want to post pics or not, but it's more fun with pictures.
I haven't anything to post yet, but in a few days I will. I wont tell you what it is though. It's a surprise.
Go nuts!
Regards, Frederik

We got a couple of bicycles over the weekend. I've never owned anything better than a HUFFY, so these are nice starter bikes. I have the Voyageur 7 with the faux-leather seats and handlebars which the bicycle shop guy called "swanky."
We've done about 20 miles of very casual riding around town the past three days. A few adjustments are needed to smooth out the ride. I'm pretty excited about this, as now I can bike to work.

I just bought an LG 32LN5300 LED HDTV (31.5" 1920x1080) to replace a 3.5-year-old Hannspree HT09 (27.5" 1920x1200). I chose this LG because it's the biggest TV that fits into the TV compartment of my furniture:
When I bought the Hannspree 3.5 years ago, it was the biggest that would fit because at that time, all the 32-inchers had thick bezels and were too large. Also, there were no 29" TVs then.

Oh yes! Just recieved my Thinkpad T430!
In the box
Out of the box
The new 6-row keyboard, mine has the Thinklight. So far I like the keyboard. Feels nice and tight. Same goes for the Touchpad. It certainly feels alot nicer than the one on the X220. I got it very cheap, because a small piece of the clip that locks the display to the casing was gone, and because the palmrest has seen better days, near the Thinkpad logo.
Looks pretty nice overall
Lid in good condition

I am very excited about my new Dell.
Well it's not "new", but it's new to me. And it has an i7 and Nvidia graphics. Extremely fast.
My tower is a quad core AMD and this thing beats it in most tests. My tower has 16GB or RAM compared to the 4GB in this laptop, but that will be changing soon.
I'll post a few pics later.
@ThatGothChick: Nice boots.

Just bought a 20 inch cinema display and ADC-DVI adapter for 22bucks. The adapter wasn't working, and i was going to use the screen with my PowerMac, but the screen is so stunning that gave the adapter a chance, turns out it was a loose power connector, 5 minute fix.
Also, I bought a Motorola Lapdock a few days ago, which I'm going to use to build a Raspberry Pi laptop.

It hasn't arrived yet, so I'll just post a stock image, but I ordered this Rode VideoMic with Rycote suspension the other night. I do a lot of filming with my Nikon D3200 D-SLR and the sound quality from the internal mic wasn't great (a lot of background noises were being picked up), so I thought I'd get a dedicated mic. Cost me 80 quid.

Looks good, A31. Do you know if it's a Scandinavian company? I'm wondering, as they use 'Ø' in their name, which is a letter commonly used in both Denmark and Norway.

ONT:
Just receved a "new" cellphone, a Motorola Atrix. Got the Multimedia dock and yet another Lapdock with it, for a monthly 69 SEK (~11 USD) two year contract. I can use up all 69 SEK for mobile data, calls, texts whatever.
Also, I bought an HP NC2400 laptop (full spec) for 80 sek today. Seller said it wouldn't turn on and i figured i could strip it for parts. The ram module was incorrectly installed. Half of it was hanging out, more precisely. Unfortunately the HDD is shot, but it does boot up with a 2.5" drive in the ODD bay.

Just another eBay purchase a few months back. 2004 Scion xB, 5-speed manual w/58,000 miles. Shipping from California to Maryland was a little costly ($750), but worth it & quick (only 6 days).

Atrix with Lapdock. (I haven't unboxed the swedish one yet since I have no need for it yet.):
As you can see, JellyBean or more precisely the 3.1.10 kernel has no HDMI support yet.
HP NC2400 with Atrix for comparison. Pretty decent nick, IMHO.

Re: Something new you've got! *PICS*
It was costly because of the adverse wind probably. Took them longer to get to Maryland. I've driven one of those, probably the only one in Sweden, and while they're lovely cars, they have the aerodynamics of a brick. You sit pretty high up for a car that size though. You see absolutely everything. Like a god, looking down on the other puny humans.underclocker wrote:Just another eBay purchase a few months back. 2004 Scion xB, 5-speed manual w/58,000 miles. It does indeed!
Everything which you got is allowed.
I got some stuff from dealextreme:
A driftcar-style on/off switch I'm gonna use in my custom fan cooling system (for cooling me down during summer ), as well as lots of heatshrink:
Also bought some harddrives, to put in some of my Thinkpads that came without them.
Oh and finally; I clocked in the first 1000kms (620 miles) on my racing bike:
Re: Something new you've got! *PICS*
What is this? A Samsung Galaxy Chat, slightly used, picked up last week from eBay. It is an entry-level phone, but comes with a QWERTY keyboard, and it runs Android JellyBean.
This is the first non-Nokia phone I've had in four years, and also my first Android phone. I was not happy to see Nokia give up and become a Microsoft subsidiary. QWERTY keyboard + modern OS + $30/mo T-Mobile plan, and I am happy.

Anyway, Dad's new purchase arrives tomorrow. 2013 SEAT Leon FR (Mk III) in black. He sold his grey 2006 SEAT Leon 1.9 TDi (Mk II) the other week and before that he owned several Leon MK Is so he's a bit of a 'SEAT Leon man'. This is his first FR though. Basically it's a Golf GTI but slightly cheaper and with a prettier body.
Will look like that but in black.
Been waiting about 3 months for it!

Man that looks awesome out there on the track!
We're all looking forward to the Leon arriving. We've been stuck with one car for four of us for a few weeks now - our trusty 1996 Rover Mini.

There's a photo of it I took with my D3200 and 55-300 lens. Lovely little car but too small for all of us really.
I think Dad wants to take it out at night because apparently when it's in sport mode the doors light up red inside.

Better looking than the VW Golf GTI, which is the car this SEAT Leon FR is based on (since SEAT are owned by VW), in my opinion. I appreciate the lines and I think it looks aggressive!
It's an awesome car. It's got a 2.0 litre engine which will get it to 142 MPH and it produces so little CO2 it only costs £20 or so in road tax per year (the previous Leon Dad had was something like £140 in road tax per year). At about 1000 RPM and going 60 MPH down the dual-carriageway you can easily hit about 72 MPG.
...oh, and in sport mode, the front passenger doors light up red
